Blooming With Events

Just like the trees and flowers during spring, the Yucca Valley Senior Center is going to be blooming with various events and activities in the upcoming months.

March was definitely madness for us as we had a month full of daily events and activities here at the Yucca Valley Senior Center. We had everything from entertainment and lectures/seminars to exercise classes and, of course, Bingo!

As we exit March, here are some of the fun events and activities we have going on this week: On Thursday, March 28 at 10:00am, we will be having a Finger Movement Exercise Class. This class helps strengthen your hand muscles and helps with arthritis and carpal tunnel. The Regional Council of Aging (RCA) will be holding their monthly meeting at 12:30pm on Thursday, March 28. We will also be having a Chair Yoga Class with Shanta at 1:00pm on Thursday. If you or someone you know is interested in a low-impact, fun, interactive exercise experience, then this is the class for you! On Friday, March 29, FSA will be hosting their annual Volunteer Appreciation breakfast starting at 8:30am. They will be serving all of the breakfast classics like scrambled eggs, hash browns, sausage patties, biscuits, and orange juice…YUMM!! For lunch, the Town of Yucca Valley is going to be throwing a Pizza Party to end the month on a good note.

April is going to be another busy month for us here at the Yucca Valley Senior Center. AARP will be back on Wednesdays April 3 and April 10 for FREE tax preparations. We will also be having soulful country music performed by Billy Erickson from 12:15pm to 2:15pm on April 10. On Thursdays April 4 and 18, the Yucca Valley Youth Council will be holding a “Tech Time” class from 2:30pm to 4:30pm for seniors who want to learn about their cellphones, computers, etc. Saturday, April 6 is the Yucca Valley Senior Club’s First Saturday event. This time around, the Senior Club will be throwing an April Fools’ Party featuring a wind ensemble by Rickie Lee and Mr. C. Entrance is FREE for those 60 years and older and $5 for those under 60.

So get ready for a spring fling, and come visit us at the Yucca Valley Senior Center!

Until Next Time~
