20 Years of Service

We held our 20th Anniversary Gala on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the Joshua Tree Retreat Center to celebrate our Neighbors Helping Neighbors organization. Community members and representatives of local government and sponsoring businesses attended the festivities.

The evening started with a cocktail hour served by staff members and musical entertainment by Hunter and the Wick’d. Gala attendees mingled with members of our Board of Directors and got a chance to bid on the silent auction items featuring artwork donated by local artists and more including Janis Commentz, Ed Keesling, Laura Peterson-Volz, John Cary Cantrell, and more. Dinner entrées of tri-tip, chicken, and baby back ribs were served with rice pilaf, roasted potatoes, and green salad by Bruce Campbell of Bruce’s Place in Joshua Tree. Following the dinner were desserts prepared by our volunteer Barbara Finnegan and staff members Sharee Hinson and Scott Clinkscales.

Our Board President Kurt Schauppner spoke of the history of Reach Out Morongo Basin, the importance of the community coming together to form the organization, and how our members continue to provide the support needed for our long term success.

In addition, we were presented with a Certificate of Recognition by Mark Lundquist, Field Representative for Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe, acknowledging our 20 years of service to the Morongo Basin.

We would like to thank the following businesses who helped make the event such a success:

Bronze Sponsor: Fatty’s Fencing (Yucca Valley)
